Welcome to our website.
Since 2014, the ART OF SINGING masterclass by Kirsten Schötteldreier (voice- and performance-coach) and Susanne Kreusch (organisation) has been held annually at the Eibenhof estate in Bad Saarow.
The course is supported by a team of internationally renowned singers, such as the baritone Thomas Johannes Mayer or the famous helden tenor Burkhard Fritz.
ART OF SINGING is also supported every year by excellent pianists who have made a name for themselves through their work and experience at opera houses such as the State Operas of Munich, Vienna and Berlin. In 2024 we welcome Marcin Kozieł, Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Wien, for the sixth time and for the first participation Erik Garcia. He is Solorepetitor and Asisstant Conductor am Nationaltheater Mannheim.
10 years Art of Singing – The Movie

This year, we are looking forward to welcome ten professional singers and up to two conductors to a unique combination of voice and breathing techniques, energy work and practical training, in the complete seclusion of the peninsula of the Eibenhof.
International voice-coach Kirsten Schötteldreier has developed her own method of vocal work, which is a mixture of the holistic approach of Prof. Frederick Husler, the classical belcanto, energetic breathing and phrasing, with the help of selected Tai Chi and Qi Gong patterns.
This work is supported by daily Qi Gong training, which takes place under the guidance of Qi Gong master Sifu Darryl Collett.
This special energy work is used for thousands of years as a basis for martial arts and ensures a balance of strength, concentration and inner calmness that every artist needs for a successful career.
ART OF SINGING is aimed at singing students and advanced professional singers who are mainly active in the classical opera, concert and song fields.
We are looking forward to a wonderful master class in summer!
Blog reading tip:
In July 2021, Kirsten Schötteldreier published a worth reading article on the website of „Neue Stimmen“ career network. Under the title „The Heart of Opera – Artists on stage“ she talks about the importance of artists on stage and what role of artists in the overall experience of opera. Have a look at: www.neue-stimmen.de/the-heart-of-opera-artists-on-stage
The main focus of this course lies mainly in the romantic German as well as in the Italian Verismo-repertoire, other repertoire-wishes of our participants will, of course, be gladly taken into account.
Why would we like to invite conductors to participate in our masterclass?
From our personal experience, we know how fruitful and helpful the knowledge of vocal peculiarities is for a constructive collaboration between conductor and singer. Collaborative work helps to awaken a better understanding for all those involved in the musical creation process.
Therefore, we would like to pass on our special approach to the use of the singer’s voice to pianists and conductors.
The exact duration and scope of this part of the course will be agreed and determined individually after the application.
This year Kirsten Schötteldreier could, once more, win the Chi Kung master Darryl Collet as Energy-coach for her masterclass. He supports the Masterclass since 2018 outstandingly and we are very happy to welcome him again. More information about the coaches by clicking on one of the photos. In addition to the coaches, Susanne Kreusch is an important interface in the area of organistaion and communication for the team. In 2024, we are looking forward to welcoming wonderful pianists to support us during the masterclass again – the pianists are Marcin Koziel, and Erik Garcis.
